Members of the Queensland football community are invited to the launch of Never Say Die: The Hundred-Year Overnight Success of Australian Women’s Football this Friday, 29 November at Riverbend Books, Bulimba.
Written by Lee McGowan and Fiona Crawford, Never Say Die is an inspirational story of the past, present and future of women’s football – its players, fans, and the game they love.
Sharing stories of triumph in the face of overwhelming odds, Never Say Die tells the story of amateur women kicking a ball around a century ago, to Australia’s national team being one of the best in the world.
The book features heart-breaking and heart-warming interviews with Matildas past and present, FIFA and FFA board members, W-League players and coaches, and state and club administrators.
Authors Lee McGowan and Fiona Crawford will be in attendance for the launch event this Friday night, which will also feature a panel discussion.
