Football Queensland (FQ) would like to congratulate James Johnson on his appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Football Federation Australia (FFA).
FFA today announced Queensland-born Johnson as the incoming CEO, to commence in the role in January 2020.
A former Brisbane Strikers captain and youth international player, James has gained extensive experience in both the Australian and international football landscape in his previous roles at Professional Footballers Australia, The Asian Football Confederation, FIFA and most recently at City Football Group.
FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said he was looking forward to working with Johnson as he assumes the FFA CEO role.
“On behalf of Football Queensland, I’d like to congratulate James on his appointment,” Cavallucci said.
“It’s fantastic to see a proud Queenslander and former Brisbane Strikers captain who grew up playing football in our state appointed to the FFA CEO position.
“I sent James a message earlier today to congratulate him and offer him Queensland’s full support as he steps into his role.
“The depth of experience that James brings of all levels of the game can only strengthen football across the country, and I have no doubt he will be an outstanding CEO.”
