Football Queensland has today announced the advertisement of three State Referee Academy Coach roles.
The announcement forms part of FQ’s reform agenda for officiating in 2020, which also includes a number of other initiatives such as the recent appointment of Jacqui Hurford as State Referee Manager.
The statewide referee academy will target talented young referees from across Queensland, fast-tracking their development and supporting the state’s proud tradition of leading the way in Australia in the refereeing space.
Young referees will receive personalised training from academy coaches, while other services will include video analysis of performance, strength and conditioning programs, communication seminars and more.
The State Referee Academy Coach positions will be responsible for overseeing the establishment and operation of a Referee Academy program, as well as providing coaching material and support for Referee Development Coordinators and other State Referee Coaches.
Further information on the state referee academy will be released in the coming months.
