Football Queensland (FQ) is pleased to announce the 2020 FQ Community Cup, to be held between Monday, 6 July and Friday, 10 July at Maroochydore Football Club on the Sunshine Coast.
The third annual FQ Community Cup will provide players and coaches from across Queensland with an opportunity to compete against their peers from other regions at local representative level.
FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said the 2020 FQ Community Cup would build on the success of the previous two tournaments.
“We’re very pleased to hold this year’s FQ Community Cup on the Sunshine Coast and to showcase our game in this wonderful region rich with football success,” Cavallucci said.
“FQ is committed to providing high-quality participation experiences across the state, and this event will build on the success of the previous two tournaments to provide valuable junior development opportunities for our young Queensland players.”
Sunshine Coast Football Chairman Tony McCrae said the zone was looking forward to hosting this year’s tournament.
“We’re very excited to host the 2020 FQ Community Cup on the Sunshine Coast,” Tony said.
“The tournament will be a fantastic opportunity to welcome some of the best young players and coaches from across Queensland to the Sunshine Coast for five days of strong competition.
“I’m confident our Sunshine Coast teams will relish this opportunity to come up against some of Queensland’s best young talent in their own backyard.”
Following consultation with zones, the following age groups will compete in the 2020 tournament:
- U13 Boys
- U14 Boys
- U15 Boys
- U16 Boys
- U13/14 Girls
- U15/16 Girls
