The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today announced the appointment of three Queensland match officials to the AFC U-23 Championship Final.
Queenslanders Chris Beath (Referee), Ashley Beecham and Anton Shchetinin (Assistant Referees) will officiate the Final between Korea Republic and Saudi Arabia, with Shaun Evans as Video Assistant Referee.
The AFC U-23 Championship Final will be held on Sunday, 26 January in Bangkok, Thailand.
Chris Nikou, FFA Chairman and Chair of the FFA Referees Committee, congratulated the four on their appointments.
“These appointments reflect the performances of Chris, Ashley, Anton and Shaun throughout the tournament,” said Nikou.
“We are very proud of their outstanding achievements and are confident that these Australian match officials will perform admirably in Sunday evenings final of the AFC U-23 Championship,
“To have these four Australian match officials recognised for their efforts shows their international calibre and quality,” concluded Nikou.
