Football Queensland (FQ) has today confirmed the Under 13 QAS Girls will compete in the Under 12 Boys Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) competition in 2020.
The decision will provide benefits for the development of the young players, while also supporting the structure of the National Premier Leagues Women’s (NPLW) competition.
FQ State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said the Under 13 QAS Girls would benefit from the move to the Under 12 Boys SAP competition in 2020.
“Football Queensland is committed to providing the best development opportunities for our young players,” Ganczer said.
“In addition to competing in the Under 12 Boys SAP competition in 2020, we will also provide additional competitive matches for the Under 13 QAS Girls throughout the year to ensure they are facing appropriate challenges to support their development.”
As a consequence of the delay to the NPLW draw release and the addition of the Under 13 QAS Girls team, the commencement of the 2020 SAP season has been pushed back by one week.
