Football Queensland (FQ) has received notification from Western Pride Football Club confirming the withdrawal of their Senior Women’s team from the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Women’s Queensland competition for the remainder of the 2020 season.
Western Pride Football Club has confirmed they will be unable to field a Senior Women’s team for the NPL Women’s season and will only field Under 18, Under 15 and Under 13 teams in 2020.
The club will continue to develop their Under 18 program to form the foundation of a Senior Women’s program.
FQ will work closely with Western Pride Football Club over the next 12 months to ensure the best outcomes for women’s football and player development in Queensland.
The 2020 NPL Women’s First Grade competition will now consist of 11 teams.
