The Queensland Government has today announced that Stage 2 of easing restrictions has been brought forward to midday tomorrow, Monday 1 June.
Football Queensland has previously issued guidelines for clubs and participants in relation to Return to Training. View the Return to Training guidelines here.
In accordance with FQ’s Return to Training guidelines, clubs who are Stage 2 prepared and in a state of readiness, may commence training sessions for up to 20 people per venue from midday tomorrow. The Queensland Government’s per venue rule remains in place until government approves any relaxation.
As FQ has previously stated in our FAQ’s, Stage 2 will not necessarily mean that all players or teams will commence training immediately. Clubs who are ready must communicate their Stage 2 training schedules with their participants to ensure the session times and procedures are in compliance with the guidelines, specifically in relation to the current 20 people per venue rule.
FQ reminds all participants that participation in any form of sanctioned training activities may only take place if registration via Play Football has been completed and insurance coverage is in place.
As the governing body, FQ is exclusively responsible for and has prepared and recently submitted its COVID Safe Plan for all clubs and zones for approval by health authorities. The COVID Safe Plan was prepared alongside other major sports and if approved may allow changes to the 20 people per venue restriction. We will keep our competition zones, clubs and participants updated with any new information.
