Football Queensland (FQ) has today released the draw for the upcoming SAP Girls State Carnival.
“After a long absence of football, it is fantastic to host the first SAP State Carnival of the year here at the home of Football in Queensland, FQ headquarters at Meakin Park,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
Alongside Brisbane-based teams, the Girls SAP event will take place on Saturday, 22 August and Sunday, 23 August and feature regional teams from Central Queensland, North Queensland and Far North Queensland and South East Queensland-based Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast sides.
“We’re excited to get our statewide SAP events back up and running, and we look forward to welcoming our best young talents from around Queensland for the SAP Girls State Carnival later this month,” Cavallucci said.
“SAP and TSP carnivals are great contributors to the development of our young players from across the state,” State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“The SAP and TSP events provide a valuable opportunity for young footballers to further develop their skills by coming up against their peers from a variety of clubs and regions.
“It is pleasing to see the growing numbers of female players and their improving technical learning through their development in the skill acquisition phase.
“I look forward to watching the games and observing the players’ skills on show at the upcoming SAP Girls State Carnival, which is also one of our talent identification events for the next intake of the QAS Girls Academy.”
Eight teams will compete in the U9/U10 competition, while 14 teams will feature in the U11/U12 tournament.
