Football Queensland (FQ) is encouraging clubs throughout the state to nominate now for the Kappa Women’s Super Cup.
Excitement is building for the new state-wide women’s knockout tournament, which is open to all Queensland clubs affiliated with FQ.
Clubs from the community level right through to the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland are invited to enter their senior women’s teams using the online nomination form before the deadline at 11:59pm on Friday, 29 January 2021.
The tournament is due to commence in March, with teams to compete in regional North, Central and South East Queensland conferences leading into a Finals Series in Brisbane on the weekend of 24-26 September.
FQ will release the draw for the first knockout round in early February.
National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland Women’s clubs are all automatically entered and do not need to complete the nomination form.
The launch of the Kappa Women’s Super Cup in 2021 coincides with the 100-year anniversary of the earliest recorded public women’s football match in Queensland and adds to the excitement surrounding the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
