Football Queensland (FQ) will host a Sporting Schools Coaching Workshop next Thursday, 28 January at Logan’s Meakin Park for existing Sporting Schools coaches and those interested in joining the program in 2021.
The Sporting Schools Coaching Workshop will feature an information session, grassroots course refresher and session planning segment.
FQ’s Participation Officer – Schools Laura Bryant said the course would provide a valuable introduction to the Sporting Schools football program for Queensland coaches.
“Sporting Schools is Australia’s largest school-based participation program, and as the accredited Sporting Schools provider for football in the state Football Queensland is excited to welcome more coaches to the program this year,” Bryant said.
“The Sporting Schools program allows us to introduce young players to our game, while also providing additional development opportunities for our coaches across the state.
“2020 was an extremely successful year for the Sporting Schools football program here in Queensland, with 231 programs delivered by Football Queensland and 23,051 participants taking part.
“We are confident that we can build on this success in 2021, and we look forward to engaging additional schools, coaches and players around the state for this year’s Sporting Schools program.
“Football Queensland is focused on working more closely with schools to provide participation opportunities for all young players while uniting football in Queensland, as outlined in our Strategic Plan.
“We encourage all coaches who are interested in participating in this year’s Sporting Schools program to register for next week’s Sporting Schools Coaching Workshop at Meakin Park.”
Those who are unable to attend the workshop in person will be able to watch a recording of the session which will be made available on the FQ website. Please complete the below form if you wish to register to attend or have access to the session footage.
