The FFA Cup Round 6 and 7 fixtures for South East Queensland (SEQ) teams have today been confirmed, with six Round 6 matches to be played on Tuesday, 25 May and Wednesday, 26 May.
12 teams from across Greater Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast will battle it out for a spot in Round 7 of the FFA Cup, including six NPL Queensland teams and five from the FQPL 1.
The knockout competition will also feature Gold Coast Premier League front-runners Surfers Paradise Apollo, the last community team remaining in the competition. After a 4-1 win against Capalaba FC, the Gold Coast underdogs will no doubt be up for the challenge against NPL Queensland side Sunshine Wanderers as they fight to book their spot in Round 7.
Logan Lightning will take on Lions FC in an all-NPL Round 6 clash, with the hosts securing their place with a 4-1 win over Sunshine Coast FC last round.
Alongside them, Gold Coast Knights will come up against FQPL 1 side Holland Park Hawks, who have a tough task ahead of them as they meet a Knights side currently sitting in second on the NPL Men’s ladder.
Brisbane City FC and SWQ Thunder meanwhile will come head-to-head in an all-FQPL 1 clash. The Toowoomba side come into the match off the back of consecutive 4-1 wins, and will look to do it again as they take on familiar opponents in Round 6.
Olympic FC will return to the field after settling a 3-1 win against Gold Coast United in Round 5, and are set to face a Southside Eagles outfit who recorded a strong 4-1 win over Palm Beach Soccer Club last round.
FQPL 1 side Ipswich Knights look to have one of the toughest opponents this round, drawing current NPL Queensland ladder leaders Peninsula Power, and will need to put up a fight to earn their spot in Round 7.
