The Kappa Women’s Super Cup SEQ Round of 16 and Quarter Final fixtures have today been confirmed, with 12 teams set to battle it out in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, 1 June and Wednesday, 2 June.
The six Round of 16 fixtures were today determined, with three of the remaining teams to be confirmed following this week’s final Round of 32 matches.
The Round of 16 will feature Wide Bay Premier League Women’s side United Park Eagles, the last remaining Wide Bay team in the knockout competition. After a 3-0 win against Rockville Rovers in the Round of 32, the Eagles will face off against NPL Women’s side Logan Lightning for a spot in the next round.
Gold Coast Metro Division 1 side Palm Beach SC will this week find out if they’ll face Maroochydore FC or Peninsula Power after their mid-week Round of 32 clash. The Gold Coast side secured their place in the Round of 16 with a 3-0 win against Across the Waves last round.
Capalaba FC meanwhile will return to the field for an all-NPL Women’s clash against either Olympic FC or Eastern Suburbs. The Capalaba team finished strong last round with a 6-1 win over Bluebirds United.
Alongside them, Virginia United FC will come head-to-head with familiar NPL Women’s rivals Western Pride, who recorded a dominant 6-0 win against Nambour Yandina United in the Round of 32.
NPL Women’s ladder leaders Lions FC are back to take on The Gap FC, who will bring some confidence into the match having put 15 goals past Kangaroo Point Rovers last round in the biggest win of the competition so far.
Mitchelton FC have an opportunity to come up against either Souths United, who are currently fifth on the NPL Women’s ladder, or fellow league opponents SWQ Thunder depending on the result of this week’s Round of 32 fixture.
