In a vote of confidence for FQ’s ambitious Future of Football 2020+ Reform journey, the Board also unanimously re-elected Ben Richardson as President and Paula Robinson as Deputy Chair of the FQ Board of Directors.
Richardson congratulated Chapman and said the recruitment of the ‘Appointed Director’ positions have never been so important in advance of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
“Amy was an obvious choice following 12 months of outstanding work in promoting football for women and girls,” said Richardson.
“Amy is a fantastic human being, a decorated former Matilda, a well-known media personality and has already developed strong relationships with government on behalf of FQ.
“Personally, I am excited to continue working with three outstanding female directors in Amy, Paula and Jackie Knight.
“Each of these women bring a wealth of experience to FQ and, importantly, keeps us in line with the 40/40/20 Gender Equity Principle outlined in the Football Australia Constitution.
“As we count down to the Women’s World Cup, FQ is focused on increasing participation, supporting our clubs and volunteers, and uniting football in Queensland.
“I want to thank the Queensland football community for their support as FQ continues to drive critical reform across the state.”
The FQ Board of Directors includes Ben Richardson, Jackie Knight, Paula Robinson, Amy Chapman, Ross Thompson, Nigel Fanning and Peter Brine.
