The race for finals and promotion is on as just two rounds remain in the NPL and FQPL Women’s competitions.
In the NPL, Lions have already claimed the 2021 Premiership and this weekend are up against third-placed Gold Coast United in a game that could serve as a dress rehearsal for the Grand Final.
Gold Coast are currently one point behind second-placed Capalaba FC, who meet the QAS this Sunday.
Eastern Suburbs are favourites to take out fourth spot after Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Lions, although Souths United could still earn a spot in the Finals Series if results go their way.
Easts play Sunshine Coast Wanderers this Saturday night while Souths are up against Moreton Bay United in a must-win game.
Meanwhile, in the FQPL, Olympic FC, Brisbane City and Western Pride are all still in the hunt for promotion.
The Round 3 action kicks off on Saturday afternoon as Virginia United take on Peninsula Power in the FQPL.
Power will be buoyed after winning their first match of the season last weekend against The Gap FC.

Gold Coast United v Lions FC
Third-placed Gold Coast United host Lions FC this Sunday afternoon at Coplicks Family Sports Park.
Lions, who have already claimed the Premiership and the Kappa Women’s Super Cup final, are eyeing off a historic treble.
The last time these two sides met, in May, Lions thumped Gold Coast 5-0 after goals to Tegan Riding, Mariel Hecher, Shea Connors and Holly McQueen.
A win for Gold Coast United could see them leapfrog Capalaba FC and claim second spot with one game left to play.
But they will face a tough test against Lions, who have been almost flawless this season and remain undefeated after 21 rounds.
