Parts of Queensland will move into Stage 2 restrictions from 4pm today, Thursday 30 September following this morning’s update from Queensland Government regarding a growing number of COVID-19 cases in the community.
The following Local Government Areas (LGAs) will enter Stage 2 restrictions from 4pm: Brisbane, Gold Coast, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Palm Island and Townsville (including Magnetic Island).
Queensland clubs are advised that community sport can continue in full in these areas in line with stadiums and indoor and outdoor event requirements (see below).
Stadiums and indoor and outdoor events
- 75% allocated seated and ticketed for stadiums
- Patrons must wear a mask at all times, including when seated.
- Patrons must be seated to eat and drink. Masks can be removed when eating or drinking.
- 75% allocated seated and ticketed capacity for indoor events and outdoor events or 1 per 4 square metres indoors and 1 person per 2 square metres outdoors.
Clubs in the listed LGAs should follow the above occupant density requirements relevant to the space (e.g. 1 person per 4 square metres indoor, 1 person per 2 square metres outdoors).
Participants are also advised that they must wear a mask at all times when indoors in club settings, and outdoors when unable to maintain a 1.5m distance from those not from the same household unless participating in strenuous exercise.
