Northern and Wide Bay regions will play host to FQ Academy Carnivals this weekend, bringing together talented young players from across regional Queensland on Saturday, 2 April and Sunday, 3 April.
Saturday’s carnival will take place at 1300SMILES Active Park in Townsville and will welcome U9 to U12 boys and U9/10 and U11/12 girls from Northern, Far North & Gulf and Whitsunday Coast regions.
Meanwhile, Sunday’s carnival will be held at the Fraser Coast Sports Precinct in Hervey Bay inviting players from U9 to U12 boys and U11/12 girls from Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast and Central Coast regions.
“It is fantastic to kick off the regional technical events calendar for Under 9 to Under 12 players for six of our regions this weekend with the FQ Academy Carnivals in Townsville and Hervey Bay,” FQ State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“These carnivals will provide the opportunity for players to display their skills, individually and as part of a team, in a game based environment that not only puts emphasis on competitiveness but also assures that they have fun.
“They will also allow Football Queensland technical staff to observe and assess players’ skill development.
“We look forward to seeing these young footballers in action this weekend, and continuing to work with them at other state-wide FQ Academy Carnivals throughout the year as they progress their football journey.”
