The FQPL 3 Metro competitions are heating right up as the next few weeks will start looking to create some distance and push for their targets in 2022. Here is a preview of what we can expect this weekend
Men’s
A big Friday night clash with Pine Hills and Bayside awaits with both sides needing three points to keep up their ambitions for the season ahead. After a loss last week Bayside will eager to continue their push towards the top of the table. UQFC will be hoping to start their pursuit of points when they take on Centenary at home on Friday night. Newmarket will be hopeful of entering the top four this weekend when they take on The Gap at home as The Lakes also look to create some distance between the pursuing teams when they host Acacia Ridge. Toowong and St George will be expecting wins when they host Mt Gravatt Hawks and Western Spirit respectively as they look to continue their push at the top of the table.
Women’s
League leaders North Brisbane face their toughest test yet when they host Caboolture in their clash. The unbeaten North side will be hoping to continue their form in front of goal against a Caboolture team who were favoured in the pre-season predictions. Ipswich City Bulls and North Star will be hoping to get some momentum going after their defeats last week when they meet at Sutton Park. Southside Eagles will be looking to continue their push up the table when they take on Bethania Rams as will Mt Gravatt Hawks who travel to Springfield. Toowong have the bye this weekend.
