Football is finally back with some small interruptions and changes heading into the weekend! Here is a brief preview of what to expect!
FQPL 3 Men’s
A top of the table clash between Palm Beach and Robina awaits on Sunday with the fixture reversed to Duncan McKenna Field. This will definitely be a crucial game for both teams as the race for top spot heats up. Burleigh host Tallebudgera on Saturday afternoon with both sides eager to get a win and kick start a run in the league at Pizzey Park. Broadbeach and Nerang square off at Nikiforides with the match originally scheduled at Nerang. Broadbeach will be hoping to continue their chase of top spot with a win. A northern derby awaits as Musgrave are set to take on Runaway Bay on Saturday afternoon also at Keith Hunt Park. Both sides play out entertaining games and one will be hoping much of the same. Southport and Kingscliff’s game scheduled for Friday night has been postponed.
FQPL 3 Women’s
Musgrave and Robina lock horns on Monday in our FQPL 3 Women’s competition. After a lengthy period off the Mustangs will be looking to keep in touch with league leaders Magic at the top who face a tricky test of their own away at Palm Beach. The Sharks have shown they can match it with anyone so Magic will be wary of the threats they pose. In the third fixture Broadbeach host Mudgeeraba at Nikiforides Family Park. These two sides played an entertaining opening fixture with thirteen goals between the two. Kingscliff have the bye.
