Queensland’s largest talent event of the year is set to kick off next week with the FQ Academy State Carnival running from Monday, 27 June to Friday, 1 July.
Delivered in partnership with Ipswich City Council, the carnival will be held at Springfield Central Sports Complex and will welcome Under 13 to Under 16 boys and Under 13/14 and Under 15/16 girls from across Queensland.
“We’re excited to welcome players from every region for next week’s FQ Academy State Carnival, which will provide a mix of practical and theoretical development opportunities for participants,” FQ General Manager – Football & State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“The fantastic Springfield venue allows us to host several full-length games while also looking at player development in a training environment as we get closer to finalising state team selections ahead of the return of the National Youth Championships later this year.
“In addition to the on-field program, the young players in attendance at the FQ Academy State Carnival will also participate in educational sessions focused on sport psychology, nutrition and high performance.
“I’d like to wish our participants all the best for the carnival, and I look forward to seeing some of our state’s most talented young players in action throughout the week.”
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said council was delighted to be hosting Football Queensland’s Academy State Carnival in Ipswich.
“Ipswich is pleased to support Football Queensland in delivering the state’s largest talent event of the year, and we look forward to welcoming participants from across Queensland to our region for the five-day carnival,” Mayor Harding said.
