Grand Final weekend is upon us in the FQPL 3 Metro Women’s as the Men’s also enter their final weekend of the 2022 season! Here is a brief preview of what is to come!
Women’s
North Brisbane will be eager to get their hands on the double when they take on Mt Gravatt Hawks at Corporate Travel Management Stadium. Mt Gravatt have put together a fantastic run towards the Grand Final but know they will have their work cut out for them against a North Brisbane side who have not tasted defeat in 2022. Both sides had narrow 2-1 victories in the semi-finals in preparation for the final day of the season.
Men’s
Centenary and Western Spirit will be looking to guarantee their safety with a win when they meet on Friday night in the final league game of the season. Mt Gravatt face a tough test against St. George Willawong looking to avoid the relegation zone as they host a St. George side who need a win to keep their title pursuit alive with The Lakes kicking off later in the evening. Acacia Ridge will be looking to end the season with a win when they take on Bayside who will be eager to finish 3rd in the league standings. Toowong and Pine Hills face off in a dead rubber with both sides unable to make finals or be relegated heading into the final day. A win for The Lakes against The Gap at home would secure the Premiership for the home side with The Gap still having a small chance of avoiding relegation should they salvage three points and results go their way. The final game of the 2022 season sees UQFC take on Newmarket at University of QLD.
