Football Queensland is excited to announce a series of free Girls United come and try sessions to be held across the state, focusing on fun and enjoyment for women and girls of all ability and experience levels.
“The launch of community-based programs like Girls United is a key way Football Queensland is striving to achieve targets set out in the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, especially under the Participants and Clubs pillar where we aim to ensure football in Queensland remains accessible to all as we work towards 50/50 equal gender participation by 2027,” Football Queensland Senior Manager – Game Development Kate Lawson said.
“With the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ coming to home soil later this year, it is such an exciting time to get involved in the game; Girls United Social Football is all about creating fun, social football environments for women and girls across Queensland to boost their confidence, build fitness and make friends.
“Formats of Girls United programs are flexible, providing a great option for women who haven’t got the time to commit to traditional training and game format of football or for those who want to build their skills and confidence.
“The upcoming come and try sessions will be a fantastic opportunity for our female participants to get a taste of the Girls United format before programs are rolled out across the state in the coming months.”
