Football Queensland (FQ) is excited to announce a new addition to the FQ futsal calendar with the inaugural Queensland Futsal Cup set to kick off early August.
The statewide men’s & women’s knockout cup will follow a similar format to the current Kappa Women’s Super Cup competition, with regional conferences integrating into the South East Queensland matches at certain stages of the tournament.
“Queensland has a growing demand for quality opportunities for our existing and emerging futsal clubs to showcase their talent, and the Queensland Futsal Cup is exactly that; open to all clubs across the state,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said.
“As part of the newly implemented Futsal Pyramid, this competition will provide additional high quality match minutes for our state’s best, highlighting players to watch over the upcoming F-League and FQ Futsal Premier League seasons.
“When the competition match ups are drawn, we will have the home teams host and nominate their venue of choice; ultimately in this competition we will not only have a champion male and female team but also a Club Champion, who will accumulate points throughout the season.”
The FQ Queensland Futsal Cup will begin the weekend of Friday, 4 August with Final fixtures to be played the weekend of Friday, 3 November.
The 2023 nomination fee is $150 per team; clubs and teams from across the state are encouraged to submit their nominations here.
