Football Queensland is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Peter Gray, a Football Australia Hall of Fame member and former Chairman of Football Gold Coast.
Involved in football for 41 years as a player and administrator, Peter took part in more than 100 official appearances involving national teams following his election as Soccer Australia Commissioner in 1995 and was head of football at the Atlanta Olympic Games and tour leader at World and Confederation Cup tournaments.
Following his time as an administrator in New South Wales at both state and national level, Peter was appointed CEO of Football Gold Coast and went on to serve as the organisation’s Chairman for a number of years.
In addition to being awarded Life Membership of the NSW Soccer Federation, Peter was inducted into the Football Australia Hall of Fame in 2003 in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the game.
Peter’s ability to relate to players and officials at every level was testament to his loving and passionate character, and the impact he made not only here in Queensland but across the country will never be forgotten.
Football Queensland extends its condolences to Peter’s family and loved ones.
