Football Queensland is pleased to announce the referee appointments for the 2023 National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland and Maccas® Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) 1 Grand Finals, to be held this Sunday, 17 September.
Four matches will be played throughout the day as the state’s best male and female footballers go head-to-head on Queensland’s biggest stage, Suncorp Stadium.
“This year’s NPL Queensland and Maccas® FQPL 1 Grand Finals present an amazing opportunity for our appointed match officials to have a match day experience like no other as Football Queensland’s biggest ever Grand Finals are held at a major stadium for the first time,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The Grand Final appointments are also a fantastic showcase of Football Queensland’s referee pathway and its demonstrated success, with FQ Referee Academy graduate and Townsville match official Page Malau-Aduli appointed as the referee for the Maccas® FQPL 1 Women Grand Final for the first time.
“Being appointed to officiate the state’s premier Grand Final matches is a wonderful acknowledgment of the hard work and excellent performance of each of these match officials throughout the season and provides a clear goal for Queensland’s aspiring referees to work towards each season.
“Football Queensland looks forward to continuing to deliver high-quality match experiences to referees from across the state and wishes our appointed match officials all the best for this weekend.”
