Football Queensland has confirmed that governing body fees will remain unchanged in 2024 as the implementation of Future of Football 2020+ reforms continue to deliver benefits to participants across the state.
The announcement marks the second consecutive year of no changes to governing body fees since Football Queensland reduced registration fees for the 2022 season.
“The Football Queensland Board of Directors is delighted to deliver no changes to governing body fees in 2024 following another year of prudent financial management and significant growth in participation,” FQ President Paula Robinson said.
“Our game prides itself on being welcoming for participants of all ages and backgrounds, and this decision reflects Football Queensland’s commitment to supporting the ongoing growth of the game by ensuring football remains accessible for Queenslanders amidst ongoing cost of living pressures.”
“Football Queensland has been continually focused on putting downward pressure on costs, and we’re pleased that football is now financially stronger and more resilient thanks to the Future of Football 2020+ reforms which are continuing to deliver benefits for participants in every region following the implementation of more streamlined administration, improved commercial appeal and robust processes and policies,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Despite the high inflationary environment causing significant operating cost escalation, today’s announcement that governing body fees will remain unchanged for the 2024 season follows another hugely successful year for football in Queensland as we hosted the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ and recorded strong growth in participation.
“With the CommBank Matildas inspiring the nation thanks to their history-making run, we’re continuing to see overwhelming interest in our game which is already the state’s largest participation sport.
“Delivering no changes to governing body fees for 2024 is just one way that Football Queensland is ensuring football remains an inclusive and accessible sport for all participants interested in joining our beautiful game.
