Football Queensland has today confirmed the final composition of the NPL Queensland, FQPL 1 and 2 and FQPL 3 – 6 Metro leagues for Men and Women in 2024.
The release of the final Declaration of Leagues follows the completion of the affiliation and licensing application process for clubs from the NPL Queensland to the FQPL 6 Metro competition.
“The introduction of Queensland’s connected football pyramid is continuing to provide exciting opportunities for players and teams who are striving to advance to the next level as we see a number of teams promoted to higher leagues after strong performances in the 2023 season,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Following consultation with clubs and in line with Football Queensland’s strategic direction for the Advanced Women’s leagues, we’re pleased to complete the transition to 10-team competitions across the NPL Women, FQPL 1 Women and FQPL 2 Women in 2024.
“The composition of leagues for 2024 will also continue to deliver 12-team competitions across Queensland’s premier men’s competitions which form the upper tiers of the statewide connected football pyramid.
“Clubs have been undertaking the affiliation and licensing application process in recent months to ensure they comply with relevant criteria in order to be awarded a position in their attributed league.
“With the composition of the NPL Queensland, FQPL 1 and 2 and FQPL 3-6 Metro Leagues for Men and Women now confirmed for 2024, we look forward to seeing these teams back out on the park next year for another action-packed season.”
