Reflect on all the winners from the 2024 Football in Queensland Awards Night, celebrating the remarkable achievements of individuals, teams, and clubs throughout the state.
NPL MEN WINNERS
Austin has solidified his status as a standout leader, captaining the Queensland state team and securing back-to-back Premierships. He plays a pivotal role in key matches, showcasing his impact with an impressive 90% pass accuracy, defending seven clean sheets, and earning a spot in the Team of the Week six times.
With a remarkable season that included guiding his team to victory in the Grand Final, Kappa Queensland Cup, and Kappa Pro Series, Darren has proven to be an outstanding leader. His squad scored an impressive 62 goals while conceding only 31, and they achieved a solid 6-game winning streak.
Joel is coming off the back of winning the Golden Boot in FQPL1 last year and coming in an impressive third in this year’s NPL tally.
A crucial member of one of the league’s best defensive units, Carlos boasts a 74% save rate, 6 clean sheets, and an impressive average of 3.94 saves per 90 minutes
Luke scored 23 goals in 21 games in 2024
NPL WOMEN WINNERS
Momo has firmly established herself as an iconic figure in NPL Queensland. She not only contributes impressive numbers going forward but also proves indispensable at the back, earning a place in the Team of the Week five times. Capping off her outstanding performances, she has recently signed with Brisbane Roar for the upcoming A-League season.
David's side was one of the standout teams throughout the year, securing back-to-back premierships in FQPL1 Women last year and this year in the NPL. He has developed a fantastic squad who capped a memorable year with a Grand Final victory at Suncorp Stadium.
Tamar had a breakout season, consistently making an impact in front of goal and showcasing a bright future in the game with a 61% dribble success rate and 74% pass accuracy.
Pairing a solid 72% save rate with 13 clean sheets and earning a place in the Team of the Week four times, Emma left a significant mark on the league this season.
Stephanie scored 24 goals in 27 games for her side in 2024
FQPL 1 MEN WINNERS
Kai delivered a stunning performance with 3 goals and 3 assists in a commanding 6-0 win, and he showed off his lethality in front of goal with back-to-back hat-tricks during the season. His remarkable contributions were key to securing the Grand Final victory and promotion to the NPL in 2025.
With back-to-back promotions and leading his team to Premiership triumph and victory in the Mitre FQPL Champions League, Danny boasts an impressive record of 52 goals scored and a league-best defensive record of just 24 goals against.
It was an incredible season Kai, who made a significant impact on the field with his outstanding performances. Scoring a brace in the semi-final to secure a 2-1 victory, he also showcased his skill with a hat-trick in a thrilling 4-2 win.
With an outstanding 76% save rate and an incredible 109 saves to lead the league, Jerrad has consistently showcased his skills with an average of 5.46 saves per 90 minutes, including multiple crucial penalty saves.
Kai scored 23 goals in 21 games for Eastern Suburbs.
FQPL 1 WOMEN WINNERS
It was a truly unforgettable season for Rie, who played a pivotal role in her team’s success in securing a historic quintuple of titles while significantly contributing to her side's impressive goal tally.
Gary led his side to a historic quintuple, securing the Premiership, Grand Final Championship, Kappa Queensland Cup and Kappa Pro Series Championships and the Mitre FQPL Champions League title, as well as winning 17 of 18 and drawing one league game in a sensational 2024 season.
With an impressive tally of 17 goals this season, including standout performances of 5 goals in one match and 3 in another, Letitia showcased exceptional skill with a 58.8% shot accuracy and a 56% dribble success rate.
With an outstanding 82.1% save rate and 12 clean sheets, Atsuko played a vital role in her team’s success, helping secure the Championship-Premiership double, Kappa Pro Series, Queensland Cup, and Mitre FQPL Champions League titles.
Laura scored a remarkable 30 goals in 16 games.
FQPL 2 MEN WINNERS
Leading his team from the front, Connor scored in nine consecutive games and played a crucial role in securing the Premiership title.
With an impressive 17-match undefeated streak and an 11-game winning streak, Gabriel led his team to Premiership triumph while boasting a league-high 69 goals scored and a standout defensive record of just 28 goals against.
With standout performances throughout the season, including scoring crucial goals and showcasing his tremendous skill as a central defender, Lewis made a significant impact to his side’s victorious season.
Bertrum was an integral cog in his side’s top three finish this season following an impressive 2023 campaign that earned him a nomination for Young Player of the Year.
Connor scored an impressive 22 goals in 21 games this season.
FQPL 2 WOMEN WINNERS
With three hat-tricks and contributing to nearly half of her team’s total goals this season, Emma adds to her Golden Boot award with the FQPL 2 Women's top honour.
William's side lost just one game all season and he guided his team to Premiership glory with a league-best defensive record of only 10 goals conceded while scoring an impressive 37.
In her first proper year playing in senior football, Ava was influential as Grange Thistle went on to claim the Premiership.
17 goals in 18 games and achieving back-to-back golden boots for FQPL 3 Metro in 2023 and now in 2024.
Justeen had an outstanding season and was crucial in her team’s impressive top three finish. She contributed significantly to their defensive strength, allowing just 13 goals all season.

Trinity has had an exceptional season, contributing significantly to the Athlete with a Disability Queensland futsal team and the Queensland Para team. Trinity earned her first call-up to the ParaMatildas camps and is currently in contention for the upcoming World Cup, all while excelling as a key player for Doon Villa Football Club. At just 16, Trinity has already made history as the first female player in Queensland to represent the state at the National Para Championships.
WINNERS
Gold Coast United has demonstrated exceptional commitment to developing talent, achieving the highest number of boys and girls representative players this year. They have led the way by providing the most athletes for the state and national team youth programs in Queensland this year, a significant achievement.
Olympic FC has demonstrated exceptional growth and success, achieving top rankings in three key areas: improvement in club assessment, overall assessment ranking, and fair play position based on the disciplinary records of their U13 to U18 teams.
Mica has dedicated her time to assisted players to receive Junior Matildas recognition as well as helping to lead their Under 15 Girls State team on an unbeaten National Youth Championships where their team finished second in the final at a penalty shoot-out against NSW. She won the Under 14 State of Origin cup with the Under 14 Girls State team against NSW Metro in no other way than on penalties.
Isabela has shown exceptional talent and dedication throughout her time in the FQ Academy QAS program. She represented Queensland at the Junior Matildas level during the U17 Women’s Asian Cup and has become a regular player in the NPL Women’s competition, recently earning a scholarship contract with Brisbane Roar for the upcoming 2024-2025 A League season.
Quinn has made a remarkable impact with Brisbane Roar FC, making his debut in the A-League and earning multiple call-ups to the Joeys national team. His impressive performances include scoring in key matches against Switzerland and Inter Milan, culminating in a standout six goals during the Joeys' title-winning ASEAN U16 Championship campaign in Indonesia.
Matt has been recognised for his outstanding leadership and influence within the football community. Nominated by fellow technical directors from other FQ Academy League clubs, he received the most votes from their peers. Under his guidance, Moreton City Excelsior finished at the top of the Club Assessment ranking and has established a well-respected academy environment known for developing skilled and intelligent players.
WINNERS
Glynn has showcased great leadership at his club, coaching both the men’s and women’s teams to new heights. Under his guidance, the women’s team achieved an incredible milestone by winning three F-League Championships—an impressive feat in the league's brief history. Additionally, as Technical Director, he plays a pivotal role in overseeing junior development, nurturing the next generation of futsal talent.
Crusaders FC are formidable contenders in every major competition. They have accumulated the most Club Championship points, thanks to impressive performances that have earned them high placings throughout the season. Their consistent excellence on the court has solidified their status as a leading force in the futsal community.
Ryan has been making waves in the futsal community. He is breaking through as a promising talent in the Futsalroo squad that competed in the Solomon Islands in late 2023. With his impressive performances, he stands out as a strong hopeful for future Futsalroos selection.
Jessica is recognised as a standout goalkeeper who has been pivotal to her team’s success. Her dependable and versatile play has solidified her role as a key figure on and off the court. With her impressive performances, she has helped her team secure three consecutive F-League Championships and achieve a runner-up finish in the Queensland Women’s NFC 2024. Her leadership and commitment to the sport make her an invaluable asset.

Since relocating from Derbyshire, England, Tom has seamlessly adapted their officiating skills to the Australian football landscape, demonstrating unwavering commitment and professionalism. A standout moment in his career came in 2024 when he officiated the NPL Men’s Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium, showcasing their ability to manage high-stakes matches with confidence.
Hailing from Far North Queensland, Jessica has quickly risen to prominence in the officiating community. Representing Queensland at the National Girls Championships in 2023 and 2024, she showcased exceptional skill and dedication, earning respect and becoming a role model for aspiring officials. A career highlight was officiating the FQPL 1 Women’s Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium in 2024, underscoring her significant impact in football officiating. We look forward to her continued growth and excellence in the field.
Jethro has dedicated countless hours to mentoring young referees in Far North Queensland, and is often seen at Endeavour Park from the first kickoff to the last game. His unwavering integrity and commitment to coaching have made him a respected role model in the officiating community. We look forward to seeing how he will continue to inspire and excel in his career.
Throughout the season, Abdullah has demonstrated remarkable consistency and skill in the QLD NPL, officiating with professionalism and poise. A career highlight to date has been officiating the NPL Men’s Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium, underscoring his significant impact in football officiating. His referee journey is marked by continuous growth, dedication, whilst also being a well respected role model for emerging assistant referees.
Doug has made a remarkable impact in the referee community in their region, earning the admiration of clubs, players, and parents alike through their unwavering support for young referees. He has consistently provided guidance in challenging situations, building a calm and positive environment wherever they go that encourages growth and learning. His commitment to instilling a sense of enjoyment in the game, combined with their active participation every weekend, truly exemplifies the values of respect and integrity that we cherish in our sport.
In 2024, Ellis demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism at the Boys State Titles and officiated the U18 Boys Queensland Cup Final and U18 Academy 1 Grand Final, further establishing himself as a rising star in the officiating community. With aspirations to join the Football Queensland Referee Academy, he exemplifies dedication and passion, inspiring his peers and future officials alike.
This award not only recognises Benjamin's skills on the futsal court, but also their dedication to the broader futsal community. His hard work as a match official has been exemplary and they constantly display a strong commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a positive learning environment for all participants. Beyond their officiating, he has taken on the vital role of being a mentor, guiding aspiring referees as they develop their skills through the futsal ranks. He understand that mentoring is about more than just imparting knowledge; it’s about building confidence and inspiring the next generation of officials, and their efforts to deliver multiple courses across Queensland have also made a significant impact on the growth of futsal referees in our state. By investing their his and expertise into educating others, he has helped to improve referee numbers and elevate the standard of futsal officiating throughout the state.

Atherton Eagles are recognised for their unwavering dedication to growth and community involvement, now proudly fielding seven teams in the Cairns competition and fostering a vibrant Miniroos program that brings joy to many young players. Members, parents and supporters travel long distances to cheer on the teams, while events hosted by the club like MiniRoos carnivals attract 400 to 500 attendees each year. With a strong commitment to promoting a positive culture, this club exemplifies teamwork and community spirit.
The Roos Goondiwindi Division 2 Men achieved an impressive Premiership and Championship double in 2024, showcasing their dominance on the field with only one loss throughout the season. Their success is particularly notable as the team has actively contributed to the club by securing new sponsorships and participating in fundraising events. Additionally, they have been instrumental in supporting junior football in Goondiwindi, reflecting their commitment to the community.
Gold Coast Knights U25 Girls have demonstrated remarkable growth this year, coming back from a challenging inaugural season in 2023 where they secured just one win. This season, the young team has reaped the rewards of their hard work, going undefeated and securing the Premiership-Championship double.
Annamieka has made a remarkable impact at her club, significantly enhancing the U13 girls and youth boys teams while elevating the standard of coaching in football. Nominators praise her for instilling valuable principles that her players embody. Her teams performed exceptionally well this season and she has demonstrated her commitment to her personal development as a coach after recently completing her C Diploma.
Angelo is recognised for his transformative impact on his team, blending soccer development with vital life lessons. His commitment to honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship has fostered a strong culture of trust and camaraderie. With unwavering support at every game and a focus on fair playtime, he empowers each player to excel. This year, his team achieved an impressive record of 12 wins and 2 draws, culminating in a thrilling Grand Final appearance.
WINNERS
Michael has been instrumental in the growth and success of their club for over 30 years. As a passionate advocate for the game, he played a key role in launching the women’s football program and establishing an inclusive ability program for individuals with disabilities. His dedication extends beyond their role as president, as he actively contributes to ground maintenance and engages with stakeholders to secure resources for the club. One of his notable achievements includes securing grants to enhance the club’s facilities, ensuring a positive environment for all members.
Jessica plays an instrumental role in the club's overall operations and culture, demonstrating exceptional organisation and dedication while working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the betterment of her club and the community. Her peers describe her as “passionate, caring, and proactive,” consistently praising her commitment to fostering a positive environment and facilitating events like Girls United Leagues, which is deeply appreciated by all members.
Brent has been essential to the development and success of the club, dedicating many years to transforming it into a thriving community. Known for tireless efforts, he manages everything from field maintenance to game day logistics, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming atmosphere for over 250 members. Peers have noted that his passion for football and commitment to community spirit have “developed the club into more than just a club—it has become a family”.
Cooroora United has consistently demonstrated strong values, achieving fantastic participation and fostering a positive culture among all participants on and off the pitch. They prioritise respect for match officials, creating a safe environment for referees and uniting all teams in their support of taking a strong stance against referee abuse. This club actively works to uphold integrity and inclusivity, ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all players.
Fiona tirelessly promotes football in their region, traveling beyond their usual catchment to ensure rural schools have equal opportunities to participate in the sport while coordinating Girls United events that allow women and girls of all ages to enjoy football socially. Their commitment creates a welcoming environment for both retired players and newcomers, while also fostering the development of young referees in a supportive and non-judgmental space.
