Football Queensland has confirmed the draw details for the opening rounds of the inaugural Kappa Queensland Cup and Kappa Queensland Cup – Youth.
Featuring clubs from every region across the state, the Kappa Queensland Cup will unify the statewide men’s and women’s tournaments as teams vie for Queensland’s top honours.
Following the success of the Kappa Women’s Super Cup in recent years, 71 women’s and 127 men’s teams will feature in the inaugural edition of the Kappa Queensland Cup, while the first-ever Kappa Queensland Cup – Youth will welcome 32 FQ Academy Boys and 15 FQ Academy Girls sides.
The action gets underway today with the Kappa Queensland Cup – Youth draw which will determine the Round of 32 for FQ Academy Boys and the Round of 16 for the FQ Academy Girls, alongside the Round 1 Kappa Queensland Cup – Men draw for the FQPL Far North & Gulf region.
The Kappa Queensland Cup opening rounds draw will follow on Tuesday, 23 January as fixtures are determined for men’s and women’s sides in both regional and South East Queensland.
65 men’s teams from across the state will participate in the Kappa Queensland Cup – Men opening rounds draw before FQPL 2 teams enter in Round 3 and FQPL 1 and NPL Queensland sides join in Round 4.
The Kappa Queensland Cup – Women will follow a similar format to previous editions of the Kappa Women’s Super Cup, with regional sides featuring from the opening round before NPL Queensland, FQPL 1 and FQPL 2 sides join in Rounds 3 and 4.
In South East Queensland, FQPL Metro and FQPL South Coast sides will play local play-offs in Round 1 before being joined by teams from the FQPL South Coast and FQPL Darling Downs in Round 2.
