Due to ongoing rainfall, Football Queensland’s technical and event operation teams have reviewed the FQ Academy State Carnival fixtures for Saturday, 6 April.
Games will continue to be played across South Pine Sports Complex, Mitchelton FC and Caboolture FC on Saturday, with a revised draw now completed for each age group. Please review the draw for your regional or club teams as the fixture list has been reduced.
While we don’t expect any further cancellations at the South Pine Sports Complex, a field inspection will be conducted at 7:30am on Saturday and a short communication will confirm the field allocation by 8:00am tomorrow.
FQ aims to continue providing playing opportunities for travelling regional teams and FQ Academy clubs that haven’t yet taken to the field.
FQ has also prioritised a game schedule for state team age groups to allow talent identification in the lead up to the National Youth Championships to be held in July for both boys and girls.
South East Queensland players will continue to be monitored at FQ Academy League fixtures. Regional athletes will go on to compete at the FQ Inter-conference Carnival in early May in Mackay.
Football Queensland would like to express its sincere thanks to Mitchelton FC and Caboolture SC for their generous support and to all participants, players, referees, coaches, club officials and parents for their flexibility and understanding as we adjust the FQ Academy State Carnival to the weather conditions.
