Queensland’s most promising young players will gather in Moreton Bay to compete at the FQ Academy State Championships and prepare for the upcoming National Youth Championships from Tuesday, 2 July to Saturday, 6 July 2024.
After a highly successful event in 2023, the 2024 FQ Academy State Championships will again be delivered in partnership with City of Moreton Bay and will welcome Under 13 to Under 16 Boys teams from across the state.
“The FQ Academy State Championships provides a fantastic opportunity for the best young footballers from across the state to gather and play high quality match minutes, whilst also getting to explore the beautiful City of Moreton Bay,” FQ General Manager – Football & State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“In an exciting addition to the tournament, we’re delighted to confirm that FQ Academy League 3 and 4 teams will join the FQ Academy State Championships this year, marking the first time sides from these leagues will participate in a competitive FQ Academy carnival as we continue delivering more development opportunities for players throughout the FQ Academy system.
“The FQ Academy State Championships will also play a major role in state team preparations for the upcoming National Youth Championships, with state team players selected through the talent identification process from eligible participating age groups based on previous performances at FQ Academy events.
“Football Queensland would like to thank City of Moreton Bay for their ongoing support of Queensland football and our rising stars as they host this year’s event.
“We look forward to welcoming all players, coaches, referees and supporters to the FQ Academy State Championships and we hope they enjoy the tournament, and all that City of Moreton Bay has to offer.”
Mayor Peter Flannery said it was a pleasure to host the 2024 FQ Academy State Championships in City of Moreton Bay.
“We hope the event brings our community together and I encourage visitors to explore and enjoy the natural wonders, local experiences, and great hospitality of our vibrant city,” Mayor Flannery said.
