Football Queensland is excited to announce that Ademir Calovi Costa, Football Coordinator at the Football Association of Rio Grande do Sul, will be a keynote speaker at the upcoming Coach Convention on Saturday, 2 November and Sunday, 3 November, as part of the inaugural Queensland Football Convention.
“Ademir Calovi Costa is a transformative figure in youth football development in Brazil, and we are excited to welcome him to the 2024 Coach Convention. His wealth of knowledge and insights will provide invaluable learning opportunities for our coaches,” General Manager – Football & State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said.
“Ademir’s background in high-performance coaching has not only shaped the careers of many professional players, but also speaks volumes about his ability to foster talent and develop effective training methodologies.”
During the convention, Calovi Costa will deliver a session titled ‘Individual Development of Athletes: Strategies for Navigating Game Challenges’, focusing on comprehensive training strategies that nurture key virtues and refine fundamental skills, thereby equipping players to effectively tackle a variety of game scenarios.
Calovi Costa has a distinguished career marked by significant contributions to football development in Brazil. With over 24 years of experience, he has served as the High-Performance Youth Coordinator at Sport Club Internacional, where he coordinated the technical department focused on youth development. In this role, he developed and implemented training methodologies in collaboration with the Rio Grande do Sul Football Federation, greatly enhancing the region’s football infrastructure and talent pipeline.
Since 2021, Calovi Costa has been the Football Coordinator for Project Conecta at the Federação Gaúcha de Futebol, where he is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive football projects aimed at fostering grassroots talent and promoting sustainable growth in the sport.
In addition to his practical experience, Calovi Costa, a FIFA instructor and recognised expert in coach development, has made significant contributions to the Brazilian Football Confederation Academy, where he taught courses on Youth Development and High-Performance Team Management. He has also served as a professor for the Technical Coordinator Course, specialising in Youth Department Management, further establishing his reputation as a leading figure in the education of future coaches.
With a legacy of fostering future stars, Calovi Costa’s expertise will inspire and empower coaches with practical tools that can be seamlessly integrated into their individual programs, ultimately advancing the future of the game.

In addition to the convention sessions, the Queensland Football Convention will also include a cocktail networking event at the Sunset Lounge at Suncorp Stadium for Brisbane Roar Men’s home opener against Sydney FC on Friday, 1 November, and the Football in Queensland Awards Night at Brisbane City Hall.
