Football Queensland has confirmed the Provisional Declaration of Leagues for Under 11 to Under 17 FQ Academy Leagues for advanced junior girls in 2025.
The release of the Provisional Declaration of Leagues follows the completion of the FQ Academy Club Development Unit’s extensive Club Assessment process which observes, measures and assesses over 1,500 data points across 75 different criteria for each of the FQ Academy clubs.
“The 2024 season has marked a significant milestone for women’s and girls’ football across Queensland, highlighting impressive growth with rising participation rates in every region, promoting greater enthusiasm and excitement in the game statewide,” said Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci.
“In our pursuit of achieving 50/50 gender parity in participation by 2027, Football Queensland is dedicated to enhancing female programs within our clubs, ensuring an optimal environment for junior girls to develop and excel as players.
“FQ’s Club Assessment process continues to form the basis for the composition, design and rank of advanced junior leagues for both boys and girls, with the assembly of these leagues built around each club’s Club Rank Score.
“As we release the Provisional Declaration of Leagues for advanced junior girls, we congratulate the work of our FQ Academy clubs who continue to make positive progress in the development of their female junior programs and congratulate them on their commitment to improving junior player development outcomes.”
A club’s participation in FQ Academy leagues for the 2025 season is contingent upon confirmation of a club’s FQ affiliation, and approval and compliance with various conditions (mandatory or otherwise) contained within FQ advanced junior participation licence agreements. Participation is not guaranteed to any club in any league until the final Declaration of Leagues is made by FQ and the club is invited to complete a licence agreement. Some clubs’ Rank Score may be still under review.
