Football Queensland has concluded its investigation into the alleged fielding of ineligible players by Leichhardt FC during the 2024 FQPL 3 Far North Men season.

Following this investigation, Football Queensland has determined that Leichhardt FC fielded ineligible players in the below FQPL 3 Far North Men fixtures during the 2024 regular season: 

• 13 July 2024 vs Redlynch Strikers 
• 27 July 2024 vs Marlin Coast Rangers 
• 3 August 2024 vs Mareeba Bulls 
• 7 August 2024 vs Southside Comets 
• 10 August 2024 vs Stratford Dolphins 
• 13 August 2024 vs Edge Hill United 
• 17 August 2024 vs Innisfail United 
• 24 August 2024 vs Southside Comets 

Accordingly and in line with the 2024 Statewide Rules of Competition, the following sanction has been determined:

• Leichhardt FC will receive a 5-point deduction for the 2025 FQPL 3 Far North Men season, being the number of competition points accrued with ineligible players in the above 2024 fixtures;
• Leichhardt FC will be fined $1,000;
• Leichhardt FC will not be eligible to participate in the 2025 Mitre FQPL Champions League Men competition.
