Football Queensland has released the 2025 draws for the NPL Queensland, FQPL 1 – 2, FQPL 3 – 6 Metro, Kappa Pro Series, and FQ Academy Leagues for Advanced Juniors.
Fixtures for 2025 have been released in record time, delivered over a month earlier than in previous years following thorough consultation with clubs, giving participants and fans even more time to gear up for what promises to be another exciting season.
The 2025 season will kick off with the much-anticipated Football Foundation Cup, featuring the reigning NPL Men’s and Women’s Premiers against the 2024 Kappa Pro Series Champions, bringing some must-see matchups between Gold Coast Knights Men vs. Lions FC Men on Friday, 21 February and Brisbane City FC Women vs. Gold Coast Knights Women on Saturday, 8 February 2025.
NPL Women’s fans can look forward to a thrilling season, highlighted by a series of high-stakes Gold Coast derbies between Gold Coast United and newly promoted Gold Coast Knights, with the first encounter scheduled for Round 6 on Saturday, 15 March. The excitement continues with the season’s first Brisbane Classico, as Lions FC hosts Brisbane City FC on Saturday, 29 March.
The 2025 season kicks off with two electrifying Grand Final rematches in FQPL 1. Magic United and Holland Park Hawks will reignite their rivalry in Round 2 on Saturday, 1 March, after their epic 2024 showdown, while in FQPL 1 Women Grange Thistle and Caboolture Sports will meet in their own thrilling rematch on Saturday, 26 April.
The FQPL 1 Men’s excitement continues in Round 7 as fans are treated to the first Warrego Highway derby of 2025 between SWQ Thunder and Ipswich FC on Sunday, 13 April. The rivalry continues in Round 18 with the reverse fixture on Sunday, 20 July, promising even more drama as these teams battle for local bragging rights.
The FQPL 2 Men’s season opens with a local derby between Samford Rangers and Pine Hills on Sunday, 2 March, while in the FQPL 2 Women’s competition, the recently promoted Southside Eagles and Holland Park Hawks will clash in Round 9 on Saturday, 24 May.
With nail-biting matchups and plenty of action across all levels, the 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons yet for Queensland football.
