Football Queensland’s Integrity Unit has concluded an investigation regarding the conduct of Eastern Suburbs Football Club who are alleged to have intentionally or recklessly induced or attempted to induce, whether intentionally or unintentionally, a player who has signed an NRR05 Professional Contract for the 2025 season with an NPL club.
It was further alleged that Eastern Suburbs FC failed to obtain the prior written consent of the Professional’s current club prior to opening negotiations with that Professional.
Football Queensland has substantiated the allegations that Eastern Suburbs FC has breached section 13.1(c) of the 2025 Football Queensland Disciplinary Regulations and section 9.3 of the Football Australia National Registration, Status and Transfer Regulations.
In accordance with the Football Queensland Disciplinary Regulations, Eastern Suburbs FC will be charged under offence code ’21-01 Breach of Football QLD Rules and Regulations or FA National Registration Regulations relating to registration (other than dual registration) and/or competitions’ from Table E of the Regulations.
Accordingly and in line with the 2025 Disciplinary Regulations, the following sanction has been determined:
- Eastern Suburbs FC’s NPL Men team will receive a 9-point deduction, of which six (6) points will be suspended for a period of two years and triggered by any further breach of Football Queensland regulations pertaining to registration or the Football Australia National Registration, Status & Transfer Regulations (NRSTRs);
- Eastern Suburbs FC will be fined $10,000, of which $6,000 will be suspended for a period of two years and triggered by any further breach of Football Queensland regulations pertaining to registration or the Football Australia National Registration, Status and Transfer Regulations (NRSTRs).
