Football Queensland (FQ) has today released its 2025 FQ Services Guide, outlining key service lines and operational initiatives that help shape and guide the future of football in Queensland, making our game the game of choice, for all, for life.
As the peak governing body for the sport in Queensland, FQ remains committed to fostering a sustainable, inclusive, and world-class football ecosystem that serves all participants, from grassroots to elite levels, on and off the pitch.
Guided by the Future of Football 2020+ reforms and the 2023-2026 One Football Strategic Plan, the 2025 FQ Services Guide outlines a comprehensive blueprint for driving growth, strengthening pathways, and enhancing accessibility, reaffirming FQ’s commitment to fostering a thriving football ecosystem for over 300,000 participants, including its players, referees, and coaches, across all levels in Queensland.
“Complementing our overarching FQ ‘One Football’ strategy, the 2025 Services Guide is structured around our four key pillars, ensuring every initiative is driven by a clear purpose and an actionable framework, ensuring continuous progress and enhancing the football experience for all participants,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The initiatives outlined within our Services Guide are designed to empower Queensland’s football clubs, raise standards in coaching and officiating, and create a culture of meaningful collaboration that produces sustainable, impactful outcomes for the sport.
“As a core strategic pillar, investment in our participants and clubs – through the expansion and refinement of cup competitions within our connected football pyramid, alongside programs to improve accessibility and inclusivity – demonstrates our commitment to ensuring football remains a sport that is open and welcoming to everyone, regardless of background, ability, or experience.
“By aligning our programs with elite benchmark standards set by global governing bodies and leading technical experts, we remain dedicated to developing world-class competitions, players, referees, coaches, and clubs. Our goal is not only to showcase Queensland’s footballing excellence but to drive innovation and inclusivity within the game.
“Beyond player participation, we are committed to the ongoing education and development of coaches, referees, and club administrators. By providing industry-leading training programs, we are equipping Queensland’s football workforce with the skills and knowledge required to foster a professional, high-quality football environment that is dynamic, resilient and aligns with international best practices.
“Off the pitch, we remain committed to advocating for the resources and infrastructure needed to sustain football’s growth across Queensland. Through campaigns such as #EQUALISER, FQ is working to secure critical funding for facility upgrades, including advocating for the development of a Tier 2 Stadium ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, ensuring football has the venues it needs to thrive.
“Governance and integrity remain integral to FQ’s vision as we continue to roll out ongoing programs such as Protect Our Game to reinforce the importance of respect, safety, and inclusion in the football community, ensuring that every participant, official, and volunteer can enjoy the game in a positive and supportive environment.
“Our vision is clear – to unite, strengthen, and elevate football in Queensland, ensuring it remains the most inclusive, welcoming, and forward-thinking sport in the state.
“By investing in the right services, embracing change and innovation, and advocating for the football community at every level, we are shaping a future where football continues to flourish and makes positive impacts in our society for generations to come.”
