Football Queensland is excited to announce that the FQ Academy State Carnival will return to the South Pine Sports Complex in Moreton Bay from Wednesday, 9 April to Saturday, 12 April 2025.
The FQ Academy State Carnival is Queensland’s largest football talent event and will be delivered in partnership with City of Moreton Bay for the third year running.
The four-day carnival will welcome over 2,000 players across age groups ranging from Under 13 to Under 16 boys and Under 14 to Under 17 girls from FQ Academy Leagues Metro clubs and statewide regional FQ Academy programs.
“We are excited to announce the return of the FQ Academy State Carnival to the South Pine Sports Complex in 2025 for the third year running, as this event continues to be a vital platform for showcasing Queensland’s most promising junior and youth football talent,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The FQ Academy State Carnival in April marks the first major football identification event of 2025 in Queensland, with more events planned throughout the year where we’ll continue to connect metro and regional talent through additional talent ID events and competitions.
“This carnival provides a critical opportunity for Queensland’s most promising young players to perform in front of our talent identification scouts for future selection into representative teams.
“After a huge year of football in 2024, the first step for our future Queensland and Australian stars is through our FQ Academy, and this carnival is pivotal in recognising promising individuals from across the state.
“We are thrilled to once again host the carnival in partnership with City of Moreton Bay and look forward to another exciting celebration of local talent.”
Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said he was delighted to once again welcome the FQ Academy State Carnival and the players, their families, and supporters to City of Moreton Bay.
“I am proud that City of Moreton Bay’s South Pine Sports Complex will again play host to some of the state’s most talented players and some exciting games throughout this competition,” Mayor Flannery said.
“Attracting and supporting events like the FQ Academy to our city is really important, not only to add activity and excitement to our vibrant and active community, but it also demonstrates that our city has what it takes to be a destination of choice for high-level sporting competitions.”
The FQ Academy is the only advanced player pathway for state and national selection in Queensland recognised by Football Australia, and the FQ Academy State Carnival will give access to talent identification coaches to verify and scout Queensland’s best junior players for potential call-ups to national talent ID camps.
