Football Queensland’s Integrity Unit has concluded an investigation into an incident at full time of the FQPL 3 Whitsunday Coast Men match between Mackay Lions and Magpies FC on Saturday, 8 March 2025.
In accordance with the Football Queensland Disciplinary Regulations and in line with the Three Strike Policy, both clubs have been issued Strike 1 and will be fined $1,000 under offence code ‘04-01 Failure to provide a safe environment for Participants or to maintain public order at a match’ from Table E of the Regulations.
The Football Queensland Integrity Unit has also handed down a combined total match suspension of 38 matches to players, coaches and spectators from both clubs as a consequence of their involvement in the incident.
Football Queensland strongly condemns the conduct of individuals involved from both clubs, and reminds all clubs of their regulatory and moral responsibility for the behaviour of their members at all fixtures and the impacts this has on the broader community.
A Football Queensland Integrity Unit investigation into the alleged leaking of information to media remains ongoing due to the significant delays caused to the determination process.
