Football Queensland is excited to announce that the NPL Queensland and FQPL 1 Men’s and Women’s Grand Finals will be held at Perry Park on Saturday, 13 September 2025, celebrating the venue’s rich football history in Queensland while underscoring its crucial role in supporting the future growth of the game.
Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said the return to Perry Park acknowledges the considerable progress of Football Queensland’s ongoing work with the Queensland Government to deliver a Tier 2 venue in Brisbane that reflects the game’s significance to the Queensland community.
“As we continue to elevate our premier competitions, we make every effort to provide Queensland’s top players with the opportunities and environment they need to showcase their talent on a deserving stage, while ensuring an unforgettable experience for players, officials, and fans alike,” Cavallucci said.
“For this event, Football Queensland will transform Perry Park, one of the most iconic and historic football venues in the state, as we bring our prestigious 2025 NPL and FQPL 1 Grand Finals back to this venue. We are focused on delivering the best matchday experience while also ensuring our continued work with the Queensland Government will help us evolve the facility into one that reflects both its legacy and the future of our game.”
For the past two years, Football Queensland has been proud to host the Grand Finals at Suncorp Stadium, however the scheduling challenges posed by the broader Queensland sporting calendar has increasingly limited the venue’s availability for football’s September finals.
“While Suncorp Stadium has hosted our Grand Finals with great success in recent years, increasing demand and scheduling conflicts with other prioritised codes has made it impossible to secure a suitable date within the constraints of football’s national Domestic Match Calendar,” Cavallucci said.
“As football leads team sport participation rates in Queensland, we’re committed to working with all levels of government to deliver infrastructure that keeps pace with the game’s rapid growth.
“Perry Park, with its rich history and proximity to major transportation nodes, provides the perfect foundation for a purpose-built Tier 2 stadium, designed to host over 150 pieces of semi-professional and community football content each year including key events like our Grand Finals, while addressing existing scheduling conflicts at Suncorp Stadium.
“A redeveloped Perry Park would take events like our NPL and FQPL 1 Grand Finals to the next level; with a football-specific design and capacity for up to 20,000 fans, we can create a more fitting experience for fans, players and the wider football community, while providing a suitable space for our game and other community sports year-round.
“We’re delighted to bring to life a return to Queensland’s spiritual home of football this year as we host our state’s pinnacle Grand Final event at Perry Park, and look forward to continuing to progress our work with the Queensland Government to deliver a purpose-built Tier 2 stadium for football.”
