Football Queensland is thrilled to announce the return of the Mitre Festival of Football in 2025, the ultimate celebration to wrap up the Queensland football season.
The 15-game celebration kicks off on Saturday, 6 September, with four weeks of top-level football across Queensland, featuring NPL and FQPL 1 Grand Finals at Perry Park and Queensland’s state representative teams who will take on Brisbane Roar and the NPL Men Premiers who qualify for the inaugural Australian Championship.
The Mitre Festival of Football will also include the FQPL 2 Men and Women and FQPL 3–6 Metro Grand Finals across one action-packed weekend, before the Queensland state women’s team close out the celebrations against Brisbane Roar Women.
“We are excited to confirm the details for the 2025 Mitre Festival of Football as it returns this September, offering four weeks of unmissable top tier football for our community to enjoy as the season comes to a close,” Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The Mitre Festival of Football is a celebration of our game on all levels, from our Grand Finals to our senior men’s and women’s state team representative games. It provides a fitting platform for our state’s best players to showcase their talent against elite opposition.
“With matches lined up against Brisbane Roar and Queensland’s inaugural Australian Championship Qualifier team in addition to our NPL and FQPL Grand Finals, the festival has become a flagship event for our state, and we are thrilled to bring together players, coaches, referees and supporters from right across our game.
“We are looking forward to working with Brisbane Roar FC and Mitre once more for this year’s Mitre Festival of Football, and we appreciate their ongoing support.”
The month-long celebration will also usher in the beginning of the 2025/26 A-League season, as Brisbane Roar launch their bids for Isuzu-UTE and Ninja A-League title glory.
“The Mitre Festival of Football is one of the pinnacle moments on the Queensland football calendar every year,” Brisbane Roar CEO Kaz Patafta said.
“With a number of Grand Finals and exhibition matches, it truly is a period to celebrate the world game here in Queensland.
“We can’t wait to have our Brisbane Roar Men’s and Women’s teams involved against Queensland NPL All Stars sides and be amongst the wider football community once more.”
