Football Queensland’s Integrity Unit has concluded an investigation regarding the conduct of North Lakes United in allegedly inducing two players to de-register from their current clubs and register to North Lakes United.
Football Queensland has substantiated the allegations that North Lakes United has breached section 13.1.c of the 2026 Football Queensland Disciplinary Regulations.
In accordance with the Football Queensland Disciplinary Regulations, Football Queensland has determined that North Lakes United are charged under offence code ‘29-01 Misconduct or bringing the game into disrepute’ from Table D of the Regulations.
Football Queensland has determined that the club will receive a $2,000 fine and loss of six (6) competition points in the 2026 FQPL 1 Women season. $1,000 of the fine and the loss of three (3) competition points will be fully suspended until the end of the 2027 season and triggered upon a further breach of Section 13.1.c of the Regulations.
Clubs are reminded of their obligation to act reasonably at all times in their dealings pertaining to player movement and ensure their conduct does not breach Section 13.1.c of the Disciplinary Regulations. Clubs should reach out to Football Queensland for further guidance if required.
