After five years of supporting the growth and development of football across the Central Coast region, Rebecca Toohey has formally stepped down from the position of Football Queensland Manager – Central Coast.
Throughout her tenure, Toohey played a pivotal role in strengthening local competitions, elevating the delivery of events and driving participation at every level of the game, particularly in women and girls.
“During her five seasons with Football Queensland, Bec has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to advancing the game across the Central Coast region,” said Jordie Gerbes, FQ General Manager – Central Coast Region.
“Her commitment to gender equity has seen the region benefit from a flourishing Girls United program including the state’s largest annual Girls United carnivals, and the introduction of Central Coast’s first all-girls MiniRoos leagues, ensuring women and girls of all ages and skill levels could find a home in our game.
“Bec’s time as Region Manager also saw the delivery of bigger and better events across the Central Coast, including annual MiniRoos carnivals, the Central Coast Magic Round, and memorable Finals Series events each year.
“While her dedication to our game and our region will be greatly missed, Bec will remain heavily involved in our football community as a player, coach and parent within the FQ Academy, and we wish her all the best for this next chapter.”
While the recruitment search is underway for the Manager – Central Coast role, FQ General Manager Jordie Gerbes will lead the Central Coast team.
On behalf of Football Queensland, we wish to thank Bec for her commitment to football in Queensland.
