social football for women & girls
Girls United Social Football is all about creating fun, social football environments for women and girls to boost their confidence, build fitness and make friends.
Formats are flexible, including programs to develop skills, as well as social competitions and carnivals. Women and girls of all skill and experience levels are encouraged to attend, with sessions focusing on fun and enjoyment.
A great option for women who haven’t got the time to commit to the traditional training and game format of club football, or for those who want to build their skills and confidence before moving into a club football team.
Come & Try
If you’ve never played football before, our free Come & Try sessions are a relaxed, social introduction to football involving fun activities and small-sided games, the perfect entry to Girls United before signing up for the weekly Social Sessions.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes, runners or football boots, and bring a water bottle.
Girls United social sessions provide women and girls with a soft entry to football through weekly sessions focused on fun football games that teach basic skills. Social sessions provide an alternative option for women to start their football journey before progressing to competitive football.
Leagues
Girls United Leagues are social football competitions for women and girls new to football or who have played in the past. The leagues offer a more flexible, lower commitment playing format than traditional football over eight to 10-week blocks.
Carnivals
Carnivals are our main events of the year, with women and girls from across the state come together to celebrate and enjoy football as a collective.
At our most recent Girls United carnival, more than 300 women and girls from the Central Coast, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions descended on Boyne Tannum FC in Gladstone for a weekend of football and festivities.
