How nominees and award winners are determined
As per the 2021 Competition Regulations, the Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Coach of the Year awards are determined based on a combination of referee 3-2-1 votes, Team of the Season votes, plus any other reasonable justification as determined by Football Queensland, such as disciplinary record or overall team performance.
Players are ineligible to win Player of the Year if they are suspended as a result of receiving a direct red card in a match or as a result of a Disciplinary Committee Hearing or Match Review Panel decision.
Players are also ineligible to win if they have played in fewer than ten First Team matches at the conclusion of the regular season.
