Football Queensland has confirmed that the suspension of football activity across South East Queensland has been lifted from today, Monday 17 March, allowing clubs to recommence training sessions and other forms of football activity once they are ready to do so.
The resumption of football activity following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred includes the recommencement of fixtures across the Metro, South Coast, Sunshine Coast and Darling Downs regions this week in line with 2025 competition draws.
As clubs impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred continue their recovery efforts, Football Queensland will work with affected clubs to accommodate any necessary fixture alterations as required for the recommencement of competitions across South East Queensland this week.
Football Queensland reminds all participants that impacted clubs may have varied abilities to fully resume all forms of football activity this week depending on damage and flooding sustained.
Clubs and participants are also reminded of the requirement to continue following the advice of local councils regarding access to council grounds as some fields may remain closed with no access permitted.
Impacted clubs can visit FQ’s Disaster Recovery Hub for updated information on grants and funding support available in areas affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
