Football Queensland’s NPL Women’s Magic Round will return to Nudgee Recreation Reserve for two unmissable days of action as part of 2026 Female Football Week celebrations following the success of the inaugural event held last year.
The skills of the state’s best female footballers will be on display on Friday, 8 May and Saturday, 9 May, with the action-packed event to feature five NPL Women’s Round 13 clashes alongside a Girls United Junior Carnival and girls-only referee event in addition to other family-friendly activations.

Game Day Delivery Coaching Workshop
Delivered as part of Female Football Week, the NPL Women’s Magic Round Coach Education Workshop provides female Academy coaches (U9–18) with practical match‑day strategies, shared learning opportunities, and a supportive platform to connect, collaborate, and build coaching confidence.
Part 1: Coach Education Workshop (5:15pm – 7:15pm)
Interactive workshop led by Priscilla Tan and Martin Docherty leading into a Female Coaches Network meeting
Part 2: Match Observation (7:15pm – 7:45pm)
Guided observation of the first half of the match.
Part 3: Half‑Time Task & Q&A (7:45pm – 8:15pm)
Reflection activity followed by group discussion and debrief
Girls United Carnival
Girls United Social Football is all about creating fun, social football environments for women and girls to boost their confidence, build fitness and make friends.
Formats are flexible, including programs to develop skills, as well as social competitions and carnivals. Women and girls of all skill and experience levels are encouraged to attend, with sessions focusing on fun and enjoyment.
As part of Female Football Week celebrations, a Girls United Social Carnival set take place on Saturday, 9 May, at FQ’s Nudgee Recreation Reserve, welcoming girls aged from 5 to 10 of all experience levels for both social and competitive play.
Coles MiniRoos Coaching Workshop
Join Football Queensland Coach Development Ambassadors Priscilla Tan & Martin Docherty for a free 1-hour modified Coles MiniRoos coaching course that is practical based, focusing on various methods to facilitate training sessions within a community setting.
