The state Home of Football Development is essential for the growth of football in Queensland. With current facilities falling short of FQ’s High Performance Pathway needs, the development of this project is crucial for supporting and producing future Matildas and Socceroos by providing greater access to high-quality training and development for all footballers.
From grassroots to high-performance levels, the Home of Football will offer pathways and programs tailored to empower both boys and girls to reach their full potential in the sport.
As the designated centre of excellence for women’s football in Queensland, the Home of Football will ensure that all women and girls have a dedicated space to develop their skills and compete at the highest level with access to the FQ Academy QAS, development programs, specialty training and tournaments.

The #FQAcademy on the world stage 🌏
Queensland’s young rising stars and coaches from across the state took centre stage this weekend as Football Queensland proudly showcased FQ Academy players in a Football Australia Talent Development match delivered as part of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme.
The match took place as part of a four-day FIFA Knowledge Exchange workshop, which brought together 65 delegates from 13 Member Associations, welcoming many esteemed international FIFA delegates, including AFC’s Head of Women’s Football, Lili Bai; FIFA expert and former U.S. National Team Player and Coach, April Heinrichs; FIFA High Performance Specialist and former AC Milan, Arsenal, and Swiss international player, Philippe Senderos; and Saudi Arabian Football Federation Technical Director and former Olympique Marseille head coach, Nasser Larguet.

From debuting for the CommBank Matildas to winning the NPL Women’s Championship with Brisbane City last year and shining in the NINJA A-League with Brisbane Roar, Sharn’s journey is a true reflection of her talent and dedication.
From playing at local clubs including Pine Rivers, Moreton Bay United, The Gap FC and Brisbane City, Sharn’s incredible journey has led her to one of Europe’s top teams—current DKB-Pokal Frauen cup holders and two-time UEFA Women’s Champions League champions! 🏆
