Football Queensland’s Women & Girls Ambassador Program
The Women and Girls Ambassador Program is designed to support clubs to actively develop, strengthen, and sustain opportunities for women and girls within their club environment. The program empowers clubs to create more inclusive, welcoming, and engaging pathways for female players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and leaders.
Through a combination of online educational webinars and in-person regional seminars, the program provides ambassadors with practical tools, shared learning opportunities, and access to a supportive network of people working in similar roles across Queensland. These sessions focus on real-world challenges and solutions, encouraging collaboration, idea-sharing, and the exchange of best practice between clubs.
Each club may nominate one or more Women and Girls Ambassadors each year. Ambassadors act as a key point of contact within their club and play a leading role in championing female development initiatives. This may include supporting participation growth, improving retention, enhancing club culture, and advocating for the needs and experiences of women and girls at all levels of the game.
By investing in dedicated ambassadors, clubs are supported to build stronger female pathways, develop confident leaders, and create environments where women and girls feel valued, supported, and motivated to stay involved in football long-term.

The next wave of Queensland talent made their mark at the 2026 CommBank Emerging Matildas Championships 🌟
It was a huge week at the Home of the Matildas, with our #FQAcademy state squads taking on the nation’s best and showcasing the depth of football talent coming through Queensland. There were plenty of moments to be proud of across the championships, highlighted by U15 White charging all the way to the final and finishing runners‑up after a hard‑fought contest.
There were also plenty of standout individual performances across the tournament, with Charlotte Lacey named U15 Goalkeeper of the Tournament and Zoe Reader recognised as U16 Goalkeeper of the Tournament, both representing Football Queensland Maroon with distinction.
A massive thank you to the coaches, support staff and families who continue to back our players every step of the journey, this is only the beginning for this talented group.
