Don’t miss a minute of the celebrations this weekend as Female Football Week 2017 takes over!
Here are some of the best bits you won’t want to miss.
Get creative at Virginia United on Friday night and be in the running to win one of two $50 Rebel Sport vouchers! One voucher will be given to the best supporter banner and the other will go to the best Instagram picture of you and your friends (remember to tag @virginiaunitedfc and use the #virginiaunitedfc hashtag). The club will also host an open training session for girls of all ages to rub shoulders with their Mt Franklin Women’s Premier League squad, before the team takes the field against Capalaba United at 7.30pm.
On Saurday, Football Queensland is hosting a free female-only Referee Level 4 course at Meakin Park – get in quick to register!
That night, Brisbane City‘s girls teams will accompany the club’s men’s team onto the pitch for their PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland match before they put on a show with small-sided games at half-time. Kick-off is at 6.30pm.
The celebrations continue on Sunday with a Girls Gala Day in Toowoomba.
Football South West Queensland is getting into the spirit with free skill clinics for U6s to U18s, featuring female players and coaches from SWQ Thunder FC. The day, which kicks-off at 9.30am at Captain Cook Ovals, also features FIVE senior women’s friendlies between local clubs.
The weekend might be over on Monday but there is still plenty more happening for Female Football Week with Maroochydore FC playing host to a Female Football Workshop on the Sunshine Coast.
